The Paralegal I will play a key role in managing and providing legal support for the US Commercial team. This individual will also have the opportunity to support other business teams and Legal team members, including by leading and/or participating in special projects to improve contract workflows and Legal operations.

This position is part of the Legal team and will be hybrid. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Review, draft, and assist with negotiations of a variety of contracts, including sales, service, confidential disclosure, and vendor contracts, and provide effective advice to internal stakeholders regarding contracts and other transactions

• Work independently and in collaboration with others to manage, develop, and/or improve templates, playbooks, processes, and training programs

• Lead and/or participate in special projects, conduct legal research, and perform administrative duties as needed

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BA/BS degree from an accredited university and paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited school or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education

• 3 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge of basic contract terms and principles

It would be a plus if you also possess:

• Relevant experience in the healthcare industry

• Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and ethical issues relevant to medical device manufacturers

• Experience implementing a contract lifecycle management system

The hourly range for this role is $31.25 – $43.27. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
